I believe @Richard released a statement saying they were coming up with a plan to help ban IB and other individuals getting past IP bans and such. Sadly, nothing has come after that, and nothing seems to be changing. I guess he doesn't pop up as often, so I can't complain.

He still pops up though. It's awful, it's like they're not trying to do anything. Maybe there's nothing they can do.

I'm always around happy.png, I have a lot to do internally though so am not always hanging in OTF. However, my DM's are always open so you can always just hit me up if you are unsure about something. We have implemented the changes I was reffering to just recently. We are constantly looking for ways to improve and its part of our discussions and meetings each week. It's important to note the volume we deal with, were over 200 million members at the moment, but we assure you we are doing our very best, but sometimes that also requires some adjustments, which is why we are trying to get as much feedback from the community as we can, we want to Capture, Organise, Action. We love you guys very much ♥

I appreciate all that you staff members do for the site and the forums as a whole. I am very happy to see that changes are being implemented to make the forums a better place for all to enjoy. Thanks for everything that you guys do for us, truly. I'll be sure to message if I can think of anything I need to ask.

Nice.

One improvement, and it's not about actual OTF - ban IB quicker.

I'm glad you mentioned that. Though, in what way could the site make this possible?

Have at least one mod on each forum at any given point.

I completely agree with this statement. It makes sense to pay some moderators to look over the forums at any given time to ban and mute repeated offenders quickly instead of allowing them to lurk around for an hour or more. This has been discussed a lot previously, but they always seem to lock threads that call them out.

That would require a *lot* of mods.

And - we're all volunteers helping out in our free time. We don't have schedules. We just help here and there as we're able to do so.

Constant active monitoring of the forums would require several additional full-time employees. You would need enough to cover different time zones, different weekly schedules, etc. Even to just guarantee that one person is always online and active somewhere in the forums would probably require at least half a dozen full-time employees focused exclusively on the forums. That many employees is pretty expensive.

To do that with volunteer mods - maybe if we had another hundred mods or so.

That said - the community can help out by actively reporting problems. And maybe some of you could apply to be mods.

I understand that it can be fairly expensive for mods and staff to look over the forums 24/7 just to try and ban one individual. I guess that doesn’t make sense.

The report tool is very helpful, but it’s usually not fast enough when someone is sending highly inappropriate pictures in every single thread. He’s been able to stick around for over an hour at a time before, and is very rarely banned immediately no matter how many people report him. And I’d love to apply to be a mod, but it appears I’m too young.
