Pawn promotion rule: some delicated issues, FIDE should pronounce about it.

If the pawns are warriors, they are male, isn't it?

In the ancient times (even today) the front-battle-soldiers were all male.

Then, why every pawn (male) want to be promoted to a QUEEN??????

I think there are some delicated sex issues inside this rule.

Some questions about it:

1 - This rule suggests every man want to be a girl?

2 - This rule suggests the man is inferior than woman?

3 - This rule suggests every soldier is gay or want to be a woman?

Jesus Christ. Its just a game.

I'm gonna go with Xanth logic. In Xanth(a fantasy novel series) only a magician can be King. A later ruling incorporated sorceresses who are just female magicians. If a sorceress is king, that makes her husband queen.

This topic leaves me uncomfortable... LOL!

in my opinion queen is stronger than pawn but in promotion it is not about girl or boy if we promte queen it is very strong for us.

shivank2005

it can be a magical thing made in chess

Ok, but it confirms my suspects: a male pawn want to become female?  Just to be magician?

my ans is right

Yes, but it is a famous and worldwide game. My questions should be explained by FIDE.

You did not answer: still we have boys (pawns) who want to be girls (queen). I really want to understand it.

shivank2005

it is not about boys and girls

Pawn promotion existed in early forms of chess, when the queen was known as the 'general' or 'vizier'.

Your information makes the issue EVEN WORSE!!!

When there were no queen and the piece was the General (male), the moves of the General were more limited, according to the history of chess:

==========================

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_chess

Early changes to the rules

Queen on its first move moving two squares straight or diagonally to a same-colored square, with jump

===========================

Nowadays they ERASED the General and made the Queen even more powerful and she is the most powerful piece in chess!!

This confirms my issues:

1 - The pawn promotion rule suggests every man want to be a girl?

2 - This rule suggests the man is inferior than woman?

3 - This rule suggests every soldier is gay or want to be a woman?

I think every chess player should ask FIDE to pronounce about this important question.

I am going to email FIDE about this issues, this is very important and I think all of you should do the same:

Methinks OP is a "pawn."

Pawns are not soldiers, and chess is a battle of politics and diplomacy, you capture, you don't kill which is why a queen has more power than a knight. ( she has more influence with the king than anyone else  hence more power.)  A pawn could be anyone considered expendable, an ambassador, a minister etc( of any sex ) having said that not all queens are female lolKiss

shivank2005

fact pawn means soldier
