It's not a mute. It's probably that you're posting too many posts/topics too quickly.
Is this a new chess.com update? It’s very inconvenient for active posters.

#3 i coined it as "phantom mute" and no, its not from posting too much too quickly. unless something happened in the servers that caused the number to go way down, and ignore other peoples messages.

If it's the red banner on web then it most likely is what I mentioned. It's possible there was a change related to how quickly consecutive posts are allowed
#13 if there was a change, its quite low. think theres been times where someone sends only two messages like 3 minutes apart and it still can happen, and then takes at minimum 15 or so minutes i think, and at most... hours.
