The Relay for Life is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.  It's a gathering place for people who know people who have cancer or have died of cancer.  People donate money, then walk around the track to socialize with others who know people who suffer or suffered from cancer.  In the evening, there is a ceremony listing the names of all the family members or friends that have/had cancer.
All of the money raised at Relay is given directly to the American Cancer Society, and last year alone, the event raised over $100,000.  This year, we are hoping to raise even more money.

This year, I am participating in the Relay.  I would like to raise as much money as possible for this, as it's a personal issue for me, and I was hoping that some members of the chess.com community would like to donate.  If you would, please visit this website:
Relay for Life Donations

It's directly through the ACS website, and the donation is made by credit card.  It's completely safe, and all of the money you donate goes directly to the ACS.

Thanks in advance for your contributions.

We'll donate for you, Cam.  We give every year to the ACS, and this will be on top of our regular donation.

Mr. Godden, thank you.  Roundtuit, I'm glad to hear that Relay goes even in Australia.
For the other 50-some people who've looked at this page, please donate.  Even if it's only one dollar, or less, it still adds up.  If everyone on chess.com donated a single penny, that would add up to almost $10,000.  Even if only the people who are active on the site donated one penny, that would add up to around $2,000.  Please donate: it's safe, secure, and it goes towards a very worthy cause.  If you've ever had anyone in your family who had/has cancer, you know that the ACS is a beacon representing the hope that there will be a cure someday.  Donating money will help to find that cure.
