Saints are rebuilding...without Graham I don't see them winning their division

What do you guys think about the 49er offseason?

Let's look at notable additions and losses

Additions:

DE Darnell Dockett- may be old, but if he can recover from his injury, will replace Ray McDonald's production without the off the field drama

WR Jerome Simpson- Receiver depth

WR Torrey Smith- IMO, the best offseason addition. Gives the 49ers a deep threat and allows Kap tp use his strong arm more. Also an upgrade over Crabtree

RB Reggie Bush- Will backup Carlos Hyde. He will also be useful on passing downs and can be used for screens.

CB Shareece Wright- He's our second CB? Uh oh. I have heard of him before, but only because he got completely destroyed by Andrew Luck in college(Fun fact: Luck used to play DE)

OT Erik Pears: Definately not an upgrade over Anthony Davis, but anyone is better than Jonathan Martin

DT Arik Armstead: Won't start this year, but should eventually replace Justin Smith. Great potential

OLB Eli Harold: Will do great backing up Aldon, Aaron Lynch, and Brooks

Losses:

Patrick Willis- completely unexpected. However, he only played for 6 games last year, and will be replaced by a healthy NaVarro Bowman, who is just as good as Willis, if not better. Unfortunately though, his leadership cannot be replaced, and with Justin Smith gone as well, some veterans will need to become team leaders. My guess is Bowman and Bethea

WR Stevie Johnson- we lose our No 3 receiver. However, Bruce Ellington, Quinton Patton, and Simpson should all do admirably well.

LB Chris Borland: We either had Willis or Borland on the field last year. Bowman for an entire year should get similar production. Also, Borland was a bit of a liability against the pass.

OT Jonathan Martin: THANK GOD!!!

DT Justin Smith- the DL will suffer, but Glenn Dorsey coming back should allieviate some of the pain of losing him. Tank Carradine and Armstead should hold down the fort.

OT Anthony Davis- Was injured for half the season last year. Erik Pears is a downgrade, but the 9ers will manage. After all, anything's better than Martin!!!

P Andy Lee- one of the best punters in the league. Pinion has a pretty good leg though, and after a few years, should be a top punter as well

RB Frank Gore- Yes, a big loss. But Gore was getting old and if he hadn't gone off in the last two games in the season, he wouldn't have gotten the 1000 yard mark. Hyde is younger and faster.

WR Michael Crabtree- See Torrey Smith

G Mike Iupati- Was great in run blocking, but terrible in pass blocking. Brandon Thomas is a downgrade, but last year he was a top OL prospect before his injury. While his run blocking won't be as good, his pass blocking should be at the same level or better.

OLB Dan Skuta- a backup. Eli Harold should replace him

CB Chris Culliver- Was mediocre and had off the field problems. Sure, Wright is a downgrade, but it won't be too bad.

CB Perrish Cox- had a big 2014, but before that, was a nobody. Tramine Brock has had a similar career arc, but his great season was in 2013 and he missed much of the 2014 season. Will be interesting to see how Brock does in 2015.

Coaching- Losing Roman is a good thing. Harbuagh was good, but he couldn't win it all, and honestly, his antics caught up with everyone. Tomsula may not be the next Harbaugh, but he will be coaching without the front office drama. Fangio is the loss I am really worried about. Let's hope Mangini can step up to the challenge.

Overall: I think the 9ers won't make the playoffs, but they also won't be terrible. 8-8 again

49ers season looks to me like a rebuilding one. Many New players and a new system to adapt to.

They also have some stiff competition in the NFC West. Seattle still looks like a SB contender and the Cards looked good last season with Palmer. Even St. Loius isn't the cakewalk they have been .

49ers and Saints arent gonna be that good this year...49ers are in rebuilding like u said WBFISHER, and the saints cant compete with Drew Brees alone...seahawks will probably cruise to the superbowl this year, unless the Cardinals get in their way

Prediction for NFC West standings:

Seahawks- 13-3

Cardinals- 11-5

49ers- 7-9 or 6-10

Rams- 5-11 or 4-12

I bet the Nineres will finish ahead of the Skins though :P

SB Prediction:

Seahawks over Colts

Tom Brady has no integrity. Hard to respect a man who can't own up to a mistake he has made.

Robert Kraft is just a moron and proved it by opening his mouth. What a silverspooned lush.

Hurray for Goodall for standing up for the respect of the game.

Who is going to be the surprise team of 2015?

I say watch out for the Chiefs.

no....watch out for the vikings.

NFC North prediction:

Packers: 12-4

Vikings: 10-6

Lions: 8-8

Bears: 7-9

NFC East prediction: I choose Redskins to win the division, and the rest of the teams to fall below 10 wins

NFC South: Panthers will win the division by close margin to either the Bucs or the Saints

AFC East: I say watch out for the Bills

AFC North: Ravens and Steelers all the way

AFC South: Colts win the division by a landslide

AFC West-

Broncos: 13-3

Chargers: 10-6

Chiefs: 9-7

Raiders: 6-10

I actually think the Redskins will be 15th or 16th in the NFC, and get a top 5 draft pick. RGIII was never a good pocket passer, and since his knee injury, his mobility hasn't been able to cover this fact up. While we can hope that he will return to 2012 form, I simply don't see it happening, and I think Washington will take the second QB in the draft, after Cleveland.

Agree with most of them, expect Cards 5th, replace Lions with Vikings(they lost Suh and AP is back), change Central to North, Broncos and Chiefs switch,

That is pretty much it.

can you make that simpler?

What is your opinion on Russell Wilson's 4 year, 87.6 mil contract? This deal will make him 21.9 mil a year, only behind Aaron Rodgers

Avatar of WBFISHER

Sweet deal IMO. He has been to the Big game two years in a row and should have had a ring on each hand. Yeah I don't know what I was thinking with "Central". Should be North.
