I thought bacon was a decent member although I disagreed with pretty much every single thought in his head other than chess. As far as chess goes, I REALLY appreciated his tips and told him that.
But he posted a bunch of really stupid political BS and religious too and that crap is against TOS for a reason.
I called him on his BS whenever I saw it. I think it might have made him think twice about posting in that manner, but it also led to him blocking me, which is fine. I don't blame him.
I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't more.
