Rock Music Thread

In no particular order of greatness.
Aerosmith. Bon Jovi. Guns N' Roses. Skid Row. Motley Crue. Pantera. Sepultura. Iron Maiden. Sisters Of Mercy. W.A.S.P. Faith No More. Rage Against The Machine. Metallica. Megadeth.
I'm sure I've forgotten a few but these are some of my favourite artists as far as rock/metal goes.
Favourite artist of all time is Michael Jackson. Nobody compares. Ever.
I couldn't pick a favourite song, there are far too many I like.

Whatever I think of first goes first:
Metallica and Megadeth, Tool, the old Green Day, Sun 41, The Offspring, Wolfmother, ACDC, Alkaline Trio, Niervana, Rise Against, Alice in Chains, and Dio (kinda, I haven't heard to much of them yet).

I hate emo rock with the burning passion of a thousand suns. Okay maybe that's a little crazy. 1,001...
Chevelle is my favorite band right now. I'm listening to more older bands because people my age don't know how to make music. I'd do it but I can't even read music notation so...
Anthony, what the hell is EMO rock? I keep seeing that expression and I haven't a clue. I'm slowly passing into the realm of old codger and don't really pay attention to the music scene. IT WILL HAPPEN TO YOU TOO!!!!

Alot of good bands mentioned on this page I like more progressive stuff though, like dream theater, pink floyd, opeth and similar.

Emo rock - *brushes teeth furiously followed by serious flossing* - ahem...
It is some new genre of music pretty much dealing with complaining about how bad life is. The bands usually make very grim musi... erm.. sounds that aren't much fun to listen to. The songs tend to have a lot of screaming and it's mostly really, really, really, really soft metal. It's Guns N Roses without the adrenaline...
Back in the 1980s it was just metal where the subject was just breakups and such but the music was tough. Now it's uh... yeah...
I'd post a link but I'm having driver problems at the moment...
Like Nine Inch Nails only crap?

I'm an old-school punk rocker who thinks that since 1985, there is very little music worth listening to.
For me, I stick with the Sex Pistols, the Pogues, the Ramones.
And, of course, "The Only Band That Matters," The Clash.
This thread is pretty simple. Post rock bands and songs you like to listen to. It doesn't matter if it's alternative, classic, metal, etc.
