scoring system?

Can anyone please explain the scoring system. Sometimes when I have good wins I go up maybe 5 points but if I have a reasonable loss I go down 10 points. There’s no consistency at all I don’t understand it at all

Points awarded are based on your rating vs your opponents rating and your Glicko score. A great win will gain the same points as your opponent flagging in an equal position, it makes no difference. Same with losses, a close game or you were crushed its the same. So if you win vs someone rated 200 above you there will be more points than vs someone rated the same. And a win vs someone rated the same gains more points than vs someone rated 200 below you. The Glicko is an algorithm that calculates the accuracy of your rating based on the number of games you play + frequency. It's basically to determine how accurate your rating is based on these factors. If you have played only a few games or haven't played for 6 months then you will gain and lose more points from each game whilst this stabilises and your rating becomes more accurate.
