semi traumatizing experience

hey guys, just 1 hour ago I went through a semi traumatizing experience. we took our dog to our local dog park to play. there was another dog there. the two dogs always got along very well. they were playing together, and something must have happened, our dog's collar somehow got wrapped around the other dogs mouth, and they both started panicking, and the collar was drawing tighter. we didn't think it was to serious until they both fell to the ground and when we ran over we saw the gravity of the situation. the other dog couldn't not get the collar untangled from his mouth and our dog couldn't breathe. my mom was trying to pull our dog away and the other dogs owner was trying to untangle the collar, the other dogs owner was trying to get the collar untangled from their dogs mouth, and the dog was fighting their hand up very badly. bl**d was kinda everywhere at this point, both dogs mouths were bleeding, the other dogs nose was pouring bl**d, and my mom and the other dogs owners hands both had bl**d on them. we could not get the collar off for the (quite literal) life of our dog. all we could do was watch him suffocate. the other dogs owner was weeping and saying sorry over and over and quite literally begging their dog to let go, my brother was sitting there with a pale face, my super mega chess brain had somehow drawn a blank, perhaps from shock. my younger brother (who is now officially a hero) remembered there was a knife in the car and ran to get it I caught on and of course being the older brother beat him to the car, rummaged for the knife and found it. I ran back with it and cut the collar loose. our dog was laying there for a minute at least not breathing, with his eyes rolled back. we all thought he was dead. but by some miracle he started breathing again. there was bl**d all over his throat and we didn't know if he was ok. I sprinted back (I'm kinda speedy) to our house to get a phone, (always bring a phone with you wherever you go). he could drink water afterwards and was wagging his tail, and it obviously wasn't an aggressive fight between the dogs, so we didn't contact the authorities. our dog is fine though right now so don't worry :), and their dog is also fine. tragedy can happen in an instant, and it seems all your common sense just leaves when tragedy strikes. it was horrible watching our dog slowly dying and not knowing what to do to help
