Senile Dementia

You may try drinking less. At the very least you would remember telling her to cook your items of clothing.
As for being misheard, I dearly hope that is not the case because if someone asks you to do something that doesn't make sense I would think that you would at least verify that it is indeed what they are interested in having (you may be interested in looking into how much your wife tends to drink).
Anyways you should let the absurdity of the matter bring you and your wife together in joviality instead of letting it pull you apart-- it's a perfect story for your grandkids and the next family reunion.
I folks, I'm a little bit frightened that I have a problem and I thought who better to ask than my learned chess pals. I arrived home from work this afternoon and found my wife swishing a pair of my undershoes around a saucepan of boiling water. I was really annoyed by this and I said that I hoped that wasn't my dinner she was preparing. We have now fallen out as a result of this and she swears blind I requested this dish yesterday evening when I arrived home drunk from the pub.
Am I going mad, or is this an age issue, as I have no recollection of this whatsoever. I thought that maybe it was her who was wrong but she promises me that I came home, climbed into bed, and asked her to "cook my sock".
