It's not chess.com, FIDE just made the women's titles require lower ratings to get them. I don't know which way to interpret that, favoring women or saying they're weaker... but to the best of my knowledge, these rules were made well over 70 years ago.

We talking about chess.com giving free lifetime diamond to people with titles... not directly FIDE; women with min 2000 elo can get the free diamond while men have to get NM (USCF 2200) or CM (FIDE 2200) as minimum
