So how old are guys and girls?

I turn 40 in 9 days… I’m not happy about it. I was only just getting used to being in my 30’s tbh.

Anyway. I ask in order to gauge the demographic here for a few reasons.

A) I’m curious and nosy.
B) It’s gives context to forum banter.

I’m just starting life tbh. The fact that you are 40 slightly scares me as I reflect on what it’ll be like when I’m that old. Happy birthday in advance even tho you’re not happy about it. You’ve experienced a lot more of life than I have and that is something truly unimaginable. How is later on in the years. I’m still a teen. Is there any advice you could give me?? 🙏🙏

Are you familiar with the expression ‘Misspent Youth’? That’s is definitely me in a nutshell in regards to my teens, my 20’s and even my 30’s though I’m not sure the latter counts as ‘Youth’ lol 😂

I was a party boy. All I cared about was dancing to electronic music, preferably in the bush, with my friends and I whilst I had the time of my life, have loved and lost, experienced tragedy, made friends I would die for and have teenage best friends who have teenagers of their own that I have seen grow from babies into amazing, intelligent and brilliant young women who I would give the world too if I could (I have no kids of my own) and have an amazing family, I personally never really grew up. Stuck in dead end jobs as I didn’t care for working and messed up University I find myself in a position that I should not be in at my age.

In the struggle to realise that I need a career at my age I have been studying computer programming and am almost finished but should have stayed in school, took my formal education more seriously and been something that I should have been years ago.

I love to learn but never did it with any means to an end which I think is a great virtue, yet I should’ve been more realistic and planned for myself better and geared my education toward a career a would find both fulfilling and fruitful.

I guess what I’m trying to say is this. Treasure your teen years. They really are the best years of your life… It may be a cliche but it’s true. And also… Stay in school, take up a trade, start a business. Do something you love that makes you some cash too! Don’t be my age starting a career at 40. By my age be healthy, wealthy and happy.

That said, I have no regrets… 😎😊😉

Also I wanted to say that you do sound a lot younger than you are (in the good way) and it’s actually making me upset thinking about age. I know what WoollenSock said is a nice thought, but is age really a number? I mean, you sound like the chillest guy but we could probably never be irl friends cuz u r like more than double my age
