This is a pick-up-the-basketball thread where by a group effort, we make a song in a a way akin to those make-a-story-1-word-at-a-time threads, except it’s one line at a time. It has to rhyme, and stanzas should be 8 lines long- and be as absurd and creative as possible, to get a goofier result (like a fool in the stocks, hence the title). For the song’s first line:

I was on goin’ down, goin’ down to the field…
