I finished the whole thing in like 15 mins

? Just enable the setting that detects keyboard strokes globally and set it to spacebar eg so that every time you get to the next level you hit space which isn't much of an inconvenience.

Enable global hotkeys, so that every time you hit "split", it counts it even when livesplit is not in the active window. So, while you are in the browser, just hit split (space in my case) when you start and every time you progress a level, and even though you won't see it, it will split the split.

I don't quite know what you are asking. I know there is an option somewhere that I use to always keep livesplit in the foremost layer over other tabs, if that's what you mean?

What "thing"?

Well, to set the hotkey you just click on the bar on the right, then press the key you want it set to. Still not sure what exactly you are after. Therefore if you want to set Start/Split to spacebar, click the box with the mouse, then press space, and that's it.
