Speaking of Bob Dylan I was over on YouTube and I just happened to view a nice clip from the " Marty Stuart " TV show. Roger McGuinn was a guest there but he did not do " Turn Turn Turn " instead singing " You Ain't Goin Nowhere " ( written by Dylan ). McGuinn mentioned that " The Byrds " first recorded " You Ain't Goin Nowhere " way back in 1968 on their " Sweethearts Of The Rodeo " album.

I just saw where Entertainment Weekly has reported that the Nobel Prize committee has not yet been able to get in touch with Bob Dylan to see if he is interested in going to the ceremony to accept his prize. Will he or won't he ? There is our question for the day   lol.

---   Well I haven't heard any more news about Dylan and his prize. I guess that they could just mail the medal and certificate to him. If he is worried about accepting the cash prize ( as in being a sell-out ) he could of course just pass the cash onto UNICEF or some other charity.

Another Star from the early days of Rock & Roll has left us with the passing of Bobby Vee at age 73. Vee had a Number One hit back in 1961 with " Take Good Care Of My Baby ". Among the other songs that he released were " The Night Has A Thousand Eyes " and " More Than I Can Say ".

---   Yes that was a very big international hit for Nena in the 1980's. She put out quite a number of other songs as well but I don't think that she was ever able to duplicate the success of " Luftballons ".

Well after 2 weeks we have a statement from the one and only Mr.Dylan about his little prize ( something like: it's quite an honour ). Also he might possibly be able to pick it up in person, very nice of him I would say   lol.

Personally, I'd prefer if he told them to shove that statue ... you know where

Best shows hands down were staged at The Fillmore; S.F. in the early 70's. All the greats played well into the morning. Best light shows and acoustics in one large auditorium . The next day everyone would show up for a free concert at the Golden Gate Park. Those events will never be duplicated.

Bands included Cream, Spirit, Big Brother with J. Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead, Chambers Bros., Country Joe, Canned Heat, Traffic, Procol Harem, Steppinwolf etc.

regarding venues, there are two i'm aware of where the sound of the band comes through. alpine valley in east troy wisconsin is great whether you're in row two or in lawn seats. there is also a relatively newer place on oahu that a similar layout. in '08, we saw sublime in one of the first shows there. i walked around the place and the sound was good no matter where i was.

baddy, i wonder how many outdoor concerts you are able to attend, due to the short season.

badenwurtca

Thanks for the posts AlCzervik. I'm a couple of hours drive out of Edmonton Alberta so there are not that many concerts out here in the country. Also I'm not that fond of driving so most of what I hear from outdoors is the " Coyote yodeling "   lol.

Earlier I saw that Paul Anka has married again at age 75 ( good to see that he is still around ).

Did I say "Bob should do that"? No, I didn't.

Anyway... I'll give one reason: It would be much more fun for me.

I have more reasons, I just don't care to explain much atm.

---   Thanks for the posts Eseles. Sorry the short note that I saw did not mention anything about that. Based on the photo that I saw she might be around 40 would be my guess.
