If man were not greedy and self centred we might live a whole lot longer. So as a warring animal I think a good one should be aroound the corner. Think North Korea, Africa, Russia, USA the list is endless, so that is where I would put my money "war".
Well the thing with adapting is you need some time. The rate at which we are able to mess things up currently will not allow much time for adapting.
I also kinda lean towards war but I think there will be some major chaos leading up to it,like the US economy going belly up, Wallmart closing down, McDonalds unable to feed the masses etc.
The Chinese will of course try to take over at some point too.
