The English and the Alapin are Busted

Now we have two contradicting principles, the masters of endless stupid debate,

@staples13 and @Lyudmil_Tsvetkov!

Enter the ring as the two guys that solved chess (or the sicilian) by none other than

STAPLES: e4 c5 c3! and Lyudmil: c4!

Staples claims that c5 doesn't manage to complete ANY opening principle, but it's the same as c4, which Lyudmil claims to solve chess. 1 must be refuted... or even both!

Bring em to the Ring, and start the battle!

Hi benji. MWAHAHAHAHA let's see this play out. Decently sure staples13 will make the 1st punch...

My improvement, unifying both lines, let's call it Staples-Tsvetkov variation grin.png:

...that's simply Lyudmils line but slower...

c4 e5 e4 c5.

HorribleTomato
This is the major line.
c6 goes along with everything staples says, and c4 goes along with what Lyudmil says.

All you fools are wrong, Nf3 is where it is at! 🤣🤣🤣 *tries to make everyone mad and fails*

HorribleTomato

hitthepin

Yeah it does lol

Also, isn’t this the Ponziani (1. e4 c5 2. c3), not the Alapin (1. e4 e5 2. Ne2)?

Hmm ... and it's known classically as Staunton-Cochrane variation. tongue.png

HorribleTomato

No Ponziani is e4 e5 Nf3 Nc6 c3.

So it's the delayed Staunton-Cochrane?

KPG: Alapin 1. e4 e5 2. Ne2

Ponziani 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. c3 peshka.png

Everyone grab your popcorn, I've alerted staples and Lyudmil about this...
