Man at Door: “Alright, men, uppity-up. We’ve got to move on out. The Magafer (highest elected official) wants to see us.”
Taras: “So, I suppose you’re the Raves (lower official of Denesp) who was sent to… ah… escort us.”
Man at door: “Such as it is, yes. Now, quit shavin’ shekels and move along (points to hall).”
[The gamblers- there are 3 of them -get up and shuffle into the hall.]
Man at Door: “Vilkas? Starwalker? Artemis? Aren’t you going to come ‘long?”

Story (length warning):
In the mountainous region of Mortair, there lie many kingdoms and Free Cities, some more powerful, some less, but the balance of power had always remained effectively even. That was, however, until one kingdom got it right, when the Empire of Prutai clawed its way to absolute dominance of southern Mortair, threatening to put the entire region under its heel. Prutai has chewed up the south and is hungry for more, planning to invade, next, the Most Serene Republic of Denesp- the only democracy in all of Mortair, and the only state which is agriculturally self-sufficient- if Denesp falls, the entire north falls with it- meaning the disunited northern kingdoms have been thrown into chaos and terror- but at the same time, the threat of Prutai has brought them closer together than ever before; and now, it’s up to the best and brightest of Denesp to save the north from being conquered and its men exiled: it will take courage, cunning, luck, and careful diplomacy to break up the threat of Prutai and save the kingdoms.
