A 'growing case' is not proof any more than a theory is proof. Science is an ongoing endeavor until the is proof.

The problem with the bang is that it could not have just happened. Something would need to be the cause. There is always a cause and effect

It would only make sense for an outside scource/individual to cause the Big Bang, something outside our universe/creation

for that we have to find out what is beneath the universe
(in a scientific way)
It is a theory. Mention creation and you will be blocked also.
What do you think lies beneath the borders of the universe? Vacuum? Undiscovered sub - atomic particles? A new environment that breaks all the theory we have?
Maybe the big bang happened continualls after the universe collapses.
Maybe the universe goes on forever.
Maybe there are many universes.
