I like my Dio with Black Sabbath.

I like The Who, and I thought yesterday's performance was painful to watch. Roger Daltry didn't even try to hit some of the notes he used to, and what's with Pete Townsend showing off his beer gut? Fasten your shirt already. These guys are definitely Rock Legends, and at their peak they were one of the best. But I'm afraid that their best days are behind them.
Well, classic rock band The Who put on a dazzling show complete with lights and lasers at this year's halftime show, and as usual many people said the show was not that great.
What do these people want? For my money, the three greatest groups in
Rock and Roll history in no particular order are The Rolling Stones, The Beatles,
and The Who.
The show was a medley of five favorites including a cool opening with Pete
on acoustic doing Pinball Wizard. They finished with Won't Get Fooled Again as
Townshend threw in some trademark guitar windmills and Roger Daltrey brought the vocals.
Yet a local news pundit here in town declared these old guys were "horrible"
and wished Carrie Underwood had just sung some more or Journey had played
instead(two good choices as well I suppose).
And another guy in the blogosphere declared The Who was outright awful.
I would love to hear what collection of nonsense he thought was music.
For me it was my favorite halftime show in Super Bowl history, but then
again I'm one of those old geezers who think the 70's and 80's were better times!
