Dude it's the X Files; it has to be true.
The X-files

And last but not least, if you can read minds, you should probably pick a game like poker to get good at. Make some money.
How do you all feel about this? I would like to get the opinion of a titled player on this one.
I'm a titled player. My title is Candidate Intermediate. I just want to thank you for the very good advice you gave to mind-readers having financial difficulties
I just watched an episode of the X-files in which a 12 year old boy was able to defeat GMs in chess by reading their minds. Apparently he wasn't very good at chess, and could not defeat chess playing computers because he couldn't read their minds. I thought about this for a minute and then came to the conclusion that without actually being good at chess, mind reading would not be as helpful as it would at first seem for 2 reasons.
1. If I don't make any mistakes, then there is nothing for his mind reading to capitalize on, and at worst most games would probably be draws.
2. Psychology. Sometimes I get tunnel vision and am convinced I am winning up until my opponent snatches up a piece for free. If all my opponent could do is read my mind, and I think I'm winning, then he thinks I'm winning also. Simply put, without actual skill, he cannot capitalize on mistakes I don't know I've made
And last but not least, if you can read minds, you should probably pick a game like poker to get good at. Make some money.
