Interesting...and then what happened ? It could well destroy the row of houses.

A report 6 hrs ago : "You think 30-foot "ice tsunamis" are freak events that only happen once a year? Think again. A fast-moving, 10-mile-long wall of ice moved ashore from Lake Mille Lacs in Minnesota over the weekend, propelled by 30- to 40-mph winds — and it was a lot like a similarly destructive ice wall that destroyed part of a town in Manitoba not long before. The Minnesota ice wave rushed Izatys Resort, growing up to 30 feet high in places and sending residents into a panic as the frozen shards covered their property. "It sounds like a train," one resident said, more calmly than we would have managed. The ice wave destroyed two dozen homes, but no one was hurt."

Was this national news in the US ?

Beats me. I only get my current news online or from The Week magazine, (which as its name implies is weekly not daily)  getting "news" from TV here is like getting brainwashed into thinking ignorance is knowledge. Most newspapers are crap as well along with most news magazines, aside from The Nation, Mother Jones and a very few others.

Anyways, the morons who don't believe in global warming will undoubtedly use this to "prove" that global warming is a hoax. Don't you wish YOU lived in a 13th-century fantasyland?

Haha, listen to you, I suppose you think all the people that didn't believe in the coming global ice age bs that they used to spew out all through the sixties and seventies were morons too.  Undecided

Nimzo, I agree about the middle range local press....and a number of national titles, this is not particular to the US. What do you think of the NYT, or the Washington Post ?

They're both "GM" newspapers but not necessarily +2700 newspapers. They're far from perfect but I would guess they gotta be in the 95th percentile or higher. Oddly enuff Noam Chomsky has stated the Wall St Journal is a very good source of news because they're writing for well-to-do businessmen who don't give a crap about nobodies like me reading the real facts about bailing out banks that are "too big to fail" etc.  The people in the Wall St Journal editorial dept are morons for the most part who ignore the ir own news dept for example they'll  write editorials about global warming being a hoax on the same day the front page of the WSJ reports on what scientists say about it.

The Christian Science Monitor is also very good believe it or not. They even report about issues like abortion and birth control objectively no matter what their own editorial views are, and from what I recall their editorial dept isn't moronic like the WSJ's is.
