Being so popular around the world, Chess can make money in many different ways, if that is an objective, or objection to it . . . almost anything can make money though. Chess is Art }8-)
My personal feelings are that anything that brings pleasure/joy into one's life is not a waste of time. Yes, there are things that need/should be done, we need to support ourselves, and potentially our families, but that should not be all that our life contains. Obviously, I enjoy watching baseball, it's something that I love and that makes me happy. While I don't make any money from it, I'm not going to abandon it just because of that. Baseball (as well as other things) is a passion for me. IMO, life without passion is not worth living.
And yes I’m trying to bring back and revive one of the oldest topics in the off topic forum.
THIS 12 YEAR OLD TOPIC WILL BE REVIVED WHETHER THIS WASTES MY TIME OR NOT DOING SO. (get it...since the topic is called time wastage)
In my country pakistan people beleive that chess is played by person who r free who had nothing to do in their lives or the aged person who r retired of their job.we however play chess at highest level but some people still beleive it is a waste of time as nothing is gained just moving pieces,they beleive practical life in pakistan is far more uncomparative with chess and it does not help in making ur mind strategic,it is only good when u gain something money or anything.I need ur comments what u ppl beleive?,what foreigners have in their mind express it out and post ur comments.
