Uselessness of Homecoming Royality

It's every high school senior's dream: Homecoming King or Queen. But...

What is the point of it?

You don't get like 1,000 dollars for getting the spot

You don't get a scholarship to Harvard or some other private school

You aren't destined to marry the queen and vise versa

It just sounds like a filler to something already familiar to other school traditions

And no I'm not being toxic cuz I didn't get the spot, you'd have to wait 3 years for that

Why worry about if you become king when you should be worrying about the school your gonna go to?
