Vacations

Every year, once or twice, I run into games where the opponent takes a long vacation just when their game is all but lost. They do not seem to have the decency to resign gracefully.

After a few calculations, I suspect "the secret gamble" must be some hope that I (the opponent) gain enough points in their absence to cost them less in exchange than if they resign on the spot.

Hmmm, just thinking aloud and wondering if this may be or not...

Wow, how cowardly is that to run away from a game when you know you’re losing. Come on, at least hold your head up high and lose gracefully and being known as a good sport.

P.s. i love the car picture on your profile. It kind of looks similar to the Chrysler Pt cruisers.

As it says in my piece, "THEY DO NOT SEEM TO HAVE THE DECENCY TO RESIGN GRACEFULLY."

I CANNOT stress this enough, but it is not a big issue, my worry is that it may happen a lot to people who play 50 to 100 games simultaneously, who may not notice this behaviour.

I totally get your point. Why do they even bother playing really.
