Blood tastes of metal and salt for humans. For vampires, they have different taste buds, They cannot consume any food, they can only drink blood. Blood for them, tastes ............. (ask @RuffledZest). 

The point is, it fulfills their thirst, so yeah.

See there's a reason humans love it when vampires drink their blood. It releases a substance called yei fen (from their fangs) which gives pleasure like drugs, and it wont kill a person until the vamp drinks too much blood
