Not wearing a mask does NOT mean you will get covid-19.  Being around someone that has covid-19 will increase your chances of getting it.

Well, if you DO wear a mask, you will unlikely get covid, which is basically you will get covid, not wearing a mask. You have no protection. 

It's too bad nurses and doctors are not allowed to triage COVID patients. If you are a nutjob Trumpie who waves a gun just because someone asks you to do a simple thing like wear a face mask, they should be allowed to set you aside and let nature take its course.  

Our brave, overworked doctors, nurses and STNAs should instead be allowed to focus on patients like the helpless old people in nursing homes who have become sick through no fault of their own.

Many people are misinformed. There are pretty much no face masks that specifically block viruses- they just block spit particles, etc. If you ask me, the cloth masks do nothing (there's scientific evidence). They didn't do anything to stop the influenza in 1918 and won't do anything to prevent covid in 2020. People wore cloth masks in 1918 that are very similar to the cloth homemade masks made today, and it's very well known that they did nothing (in fact, my history teacher told us about how they were absoulutely useless prior to covid.) I think any type of mask helps to some extent, but very minimally. 

You're sadly misinformed. Masks are not foolproof and often do absolutely nothing. I know many people who wear masks 24/7 and still get covid. It's about whether or not you're keeping 6 feet really, and even then that's not possible. There's no way to keep everyone from not getting covid, so people who are at risk should take measures to not get into contact with people that have it. People who aren't at risk will eventually get it but 99.99% won't die

Masks are not foolproof.  Just like being around someone with a cold does not always mean you catch that cold.

Well entertain me why masks are going to work flawlessly in 2020 when they didn't 100 years ago. There's scientific evidence to why homemade face masks do almost nothing. His point was that they're foolproof- which they are, no doubt about that. They are usually ineffective. I believe Dr Fauci is now saying that most masks are useless, though I'm not sure if he is.
