What Covid-19 vaccines have you had?

None. These vaccines are unreliable. Until they have certification by our CDC, I will not get them. We here only have the vaccines u see emergency authorization. Not been tested by FDA and CDC yet. So, in doing so, I have no focus vaccinations. And I have not had Covid. But relatives got the vaccine and had Covid many more times. Sounds fishy, right? Well that’s my opinion.

A good example of the sort of pathological irrationality that is common in the Facebook age.

That's an emotionally based over-reaction. Isn't that more like "pathological irrationality" than anything you're complaining about? Why are you so emotional about it?

The science is extremely clear that getting vaccinated provides very low risks and very large reductions in risk. People who believe unmoderated crap from unreliable sources (or think their random anecdotal evidence stacks up against the sum total of all of the carefully executed clinical trials and other scientific evidence!) cause themselves unnecessary risks.

The bottom line of this pathological irrationality is hundreds of thousands or millions of unnecessary deaths (never mind the non-fatal harm). This is true more in some countries than others, from the anti-scientific (and poorer educated) demographic in the US to the elderly in China who have never believed modern medicine is as good as the mainly quack remedies of "traditional medicine".

The bivalent shot makes me ambivalent about being tracked

You are confusing unemotional scientific objectivity with the opposite. A very odd mistake.
Please note that I explained clearly why the position was irrational. The adjective "pathological" sums up the harmfulness and infectiousness of this sort of misinformation).

Some people trust their own experiences over expert consensus especially when they live in more isolated environments. There may be reasons to explain why their experience is different since conditions are different but that may not always register.  Then some are willing to sacrifice their opinions for the greater good while some aren't since the greater good itself is suspect.

This is why we need a dictator. Hello friends.

They need to teach some basics of epistemology in school, starting from a young age.

What you believe isn't so important. Why you believe it is everything. The rationale in the quote... ugh.

I feel this comes intuitively naturally to a not of people who are not academic or involved in a profession. It remains a fact that the most reliable conclusions are reached by correctly weighing the most substantial sources of information.

In your opinion but not in mine. Try to pretend to be as objective as you wish others to pretend to be.

When people get older they feel more vulnerable and they think of themselves more. This moralising about the vaccine is just to feel better. "Because you can think you have the right thoughts".

Another person can disagree with you from the best of motives and you will still think they're immoral **because of the subliminal perception that they are harming you**.

I think Covid is just a new form of flu. All such things are dangerous at first and become progressively less dangerous. Perhaps vaccines are useful for the vulnerable. I don't have flu vaccines because the last one I had made me ill.

Pathological irrationality? Also to add- all of you probably have twenty, thirty years on me. Maybe more. Personally, with me, I feel I do not need a non- FDA tested vaccine to do the fighting against this flu variant. I have a great immune system. As far as I’m concerned, I’m getting no jab.

Exactly the same for me. I'll be 72 in May and I trust my immune system.

There we go. We’ve got an agreed idea. If my immune system has stopped me from getting typhoid fever then I’ll be fine. Just fine with me built in vaccine. Thanks very much but I ain’t getting the jab.

I never got vaxed.

I was wondering what % of people got vaccinated and found this site that says 68% in the U.S. were "fully" vaccinated as of 5.3 months ago (Aug 31, 2022).  A lot higher than I would've guessed.  Im sure its higher now.

I don't know if I ever got covid, probably did, but I never experienced anything more than a mild cold over the last 3 years.

All vaccination is based on empirically justified trust in the immune system to develop a resistance to a dangerous replicating invader from exposure to a very benign, non-replicating fragment of it. Think of the immune response as a dedicated army trained to spot the enemy and eliminate them.

People who think it is better to wait to get invaded before starting to develop a resistance (cf conscription and training) are not thinking straight.
