You have it backwards. The Baroque classical music period (1700's) was best... Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart, etc. Beethoven was over-rated. All that overly dramatic crap.
Classical music should be soft and easy with happy melodies. Not DUM DUM DUMMMMMM! Mr. Dramatic Beethoven.

Many geniuses and former world leaders loved the composer Richard Wagner... Hawking, Einstein, even Hitler.
So I thought - I like classical music, I'll give it a try. Talk about self-indulgent - the vast majority of his compositions are painfully slow with virtually no melodies. Maybe I'm just not smert enough, but I don't get it.
I was raised by an aunt and uncle(older people). So i grew up on classical music, big band music, swing music, and the music of Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Johnny Mathis, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole and the like. So i was always around it. I much prefer that music to any modern music with the exception of modern Christian music.
