NM is 2200 USCF, and isn't recognized by FIDE. CM is 2200 FIDE, and is the lowest title you can achieve (outside of women's titles) that is recognized by FIDE

Mmm… ok.

theeldest1

NE is 2000 USCF, and I believe is also called Candidate Master. But it's weaker than the FIDE CM and isn't recognized on chess.com.

QueenVie

It is not only NM is recognize here

theeldest1

Correct. Chess.com recognizes all FIDE titles and the National Master title. NM is awarded by national federations, not FIDE.

#44 Hey Vie !

SafChess1

GM = 2500 ELO . Super GM = 2700 elo

Winston1234e

Dang this is like, one of my first threads.

theeldest1

GM needs a FIDE rating of 2500 and three GM norms. (A normal is basically a high performance in a strong tournament). Super GM isn't am official title, just something we say to make 2700s feel good lol

theeldest1

Winston, I'll get GM and come back in a few years and say hi!

theeldest1

*norm, not normal

Winston1234e

Here's what Google said to get GM

theeldest1

I get it Arushva! It'll take some time, but I know I can do it.

QueenVie

Well youre correct saf a GM needs to have 2500 FIDE rating but thats for mens, for us womens its only 2300 which is IM for mens

Hot_Rash

#1 Unpossible!

SafChess1

#56 oh ok thanks for clarifying! 👏

SafChess1

#56 yeah different genders have different rules I think . For chess

theeldest1

No, there's no difference in the rules. Just that FIDE made women's titles which are typically about 200 points lower than the normal version and they're only accessible by women.
