A lot of people hit a point at which the simplicity of religion is no longer able to keep up with the greyscales and complexities of real life, and the bottom kinda drops out.
As you get older you'll find it's as much about narrative as it is about state. You'll find your connections, engagements, and your footing. You'll come up with your own definitions.
