Don’t forget Hunky, he was pretty active then. There were fewer spam threads, the people were nicer, (from my experience), Baby didn’t seem to come as much
What made the golden age of otf ‘golden’?

The 'Golden Age' is subjective. The summer of 2024 was probably the most fun I've had here, but it could be different for everyone. Adults will think that the golden age of OTF was long before it was overrun by kids like us a decade ago. As OTF continues to be a spot for kids to spam, it only makes sense that past generations of OTF were better.

Also the RPs aren’t as popular. You mentioned rainy forever, but there was also the Dusty Coffee shop and others that were famous, although I never joined any of them.

I know I said I was leaving, I just want to help out here. There was no Omni man or catgirl takeovers, no “forsaken” or any other Roblox references, Torch was more active, Fakevans was around, OTF wasn’t the largest thread

Man, I’m feeling old typing these 😭
Anyway, the whole experience was just more enjoyable. Thinking back on it, it is kinda hard to think of what made it better back then. I do think that the age has something to do with it. I’m not revealing my age, but I have tried to act mature on my time here. The newer bunch, well, are very into brainrot, and other stuff

The OGs actually understood OTF and how to chat on it. The new generation of OTFers can’t stop fighting, using language, or posting spam. I’m not trying to offend anyone, this is just how it feels to me.
Also, I am not calling myself an OG. I first posted on April 29, 2024, so interpret that however you want.
What could have caused this? Well, one reason that many OGs have argued, including Basix, that otf is filled with spam. It has always been there, whether breeze or person above you threads, or threads which simply make you type differently. It is making those who enjoy otf for unique ideas, and those who join to make them, can’t find them under the large amounts of spam. This could result in a decrease of enjoyment.
Is this it? No, we also have the fact many leave of inactivity. I’ll just plop down a few names that I barely see, or haven’t in ages:
Wooly
Breeze
WTFrickenA
TheRealWilliam
There are many more, but these I knew of the top of my head, and I bet some of the newer people have not heard of them. This reduction of popular known members has definitely made the OGs reminisce over the past. And it is a sad truth that members will leave. There are a few I reminisce now.
Also, rp threads have been suffering, they are not very active, especially since the death of Rainy Forever. People simply aren’t as interested in them, not like the ‘good ol’ days’.
Ok, but this is you speaking Balvi, what about the true OGs?
Well, it’s time to hit the nail through the board and into the building. Ask Sawdof, Basix, anyone, and I almost guarantee that they will say previous times were better. And I think the final thing I have to say will truly show this.
Reducing age in audience might not seem to be bad, but for the true OGs, who have been on otf longer than half have lived in life, it must be a realisation to have. And this reduction in age means that some of the previous beef, some of which I have covered of otf history, for instance Breeze vs TheRealWilliam. And some topics that these OGs were used to, and was on their level of maturity, is now gone. Poor sawdof has no one to beef with, I don’t even know the last thread he made.
So in conclusion, this mix of effects means the golden age of otf is always behind us, and might never be beaten by future events. It may sound pessimistic, but also remember that just because it isn’t as good, doesn’t mean it isn’t good.
Thanks for reading through all of this, if you did - Balvi
