I would start with a Roth Ira and put money into retirement, then I would try to gather some more income before I punt a lot of money into investments. Remember, never invest the money you need.

One simple safe investment is in the overall stock market as a whole (basically a tiny share in every company). The yields aren’t high (10 percent a year on average) but over history, it is fairly consistent in its increase over time, making it a fairly safe long term investment
You could try buying equity shares with the 300 dollars and then try crypto trading with the remaining ( if you don't mind losing some money)
