Rugby is like your American football without all the padding/armour that you seem to wear. You have to carry to ball over the line and make it touch the floor to get a Tri (which is the equivalent of a touch-down).

I used to play, and still watch. I love rugby, but didn't see your post. Sorry. I'll look soon.

I don't know much about Rugby but I'll check out your post. Where can I find out more about how the game is played, etc?

rugby is like baseball as soccer is like football? the only thing i know about rubgy i learned by watching british tv(are you being served? etc). it looks like the only "sport" WE HAVE IN COMMON IS GOLF AND CHESS. oh-maybe texas holdem if you consider that a sport.

Rugby is basically cross-country wrestling.

haha@'cross-country wrestling.'

rugby is the most bad-arsed sport on the globe. it is so easy to get wrecked  but it sure is fun to watch

Too many stoppages for my liking, like cricket and American football. I prefer normal football, that is unless there's a whistle happy ref like in rugby and... blah, blah... you get the picture.

I actually really enjoy rugby, but the problem is to get into a sport, it needs to be on TV a lot, it needs to have local teams that you feel passion for, and it needs to be played in schools so you understand it and appreciate how good the guys on TV are. I used to go to all the rugby games when I went to BYU. BYU actually has one of the nations top rugby teams because so many new zealanders go to BYU. :)

I remember reading that rugby originally was played between two neighboring towns. The winning team was the one that got the ball to the other town. Or the one that survived.

oh right so don't u play rugby in schools in america surely u dont play fully padded up american football!?! it makes u look like robots and i dont really get it. anyway this post seems to have attracted quite a few peoples attention i think american football is about the only sport along with baseball that is followed big time in america its amazing that in a distance of a few thousand km everything changes so much

Rugby's just like stoppage free football....

with no pads, and some other weird stuff

like the throw ins..or whatever else they are actually called

The whole idea of hookers playing a sport bothers me.
