What you're listening to?

I couldn't find a music-related thread which wasn't older than 3 years (and most of them sucked, as they were just about promoting the music taste of one person, normally the OP, instead of concentrating on sharing), soooo ... I encourage everybody to share the piece of music he/she is listening right now in this thread!

I'll start:

Om - Flight of the Eagle

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYgyL7NlwJQ

I love music, so hopefully this thread will be filled to the brim with all kinds of it eventually! Smile

This song always jerks me to tears, no kidding. I get goose bumps and feel melancholic. It's great!

Extrawelt - Fernweh

Fernweh is translated as a longing for foreign, far away places into English, btw ... like a reversed homesickness.

I like Rebecca St James:

I often put this playlist on while playing online chess at the moment. I think there's a lot of truth in what she sings. The first song is "Beautiful Stranger".

Les Rallizes Dénudés - Night of the Assassins

(this will kill your speakers, lol! Laughing)

And that one is just too nice to not be shared ...

Laid Back - Bakerman

The lyrics don't make a whole lot of sense, though.

Wow, I almost forgot this thread and along comes ronin. Thanks friend, your input is seriously appreciated. Smile

btw, I'm serioulsy ashamed of the very last link I posted (Smokin Woman by Nebula) which I posted before listening to it (I knew the song by its name and wanted to share it) but then, upon listening to it again today, I noticed the track is full of disruptive clicks and tone distortions, especially towards the end. It really kills the buzz out of it, I'm sorry ... (couldn't find a better studio version of the song, but I tried.)

Anyway, I've been listening to this, might wanna check it out:

Rock wise, another huge area, Jane's Addiction, and Smashing Pumpkins stand out, I've seen both of them, and they were stunning shows. I also listen to alternative music, punk, heavy metal, The Monks of Santo Domingo de Silos: Chant, tuvan throat singing, aboriginal digeredoo, Native American chants and songs, also, Carlos Nakai, Japanese flute playing, I literally could spend days going through the list. Let me know what you are interested in, and likely, I will know at least a little something about the genre of music, and help provide useful suggestions, even if it is obscure. And hey, I remember Kraftwerk too, which started our New Wave bands here in the USA, with Devo, The Psychedelic Furs, and Blondie as well. So call the type of tunes you most enjoy, I'm not very helpful on American modern pop, much of it is rubbish, but I know some of it, and some rap as well, but I can't say those are my specialties at all. I hope that now your page is full of suggestions, and I have a thousand more groups and songs to offer. I think I'll head over and listen to Bjork with the Sugarcubes sing their song, Birthday, and then settle into some Cocteau Twins for the evening. Guten tag?, and best wishes to you! rr

You really love music. I'm just a guy who combs through his Browsing history to present it here.

Like this: There hasn't been a single week going by where I didn't listen to this song, very uplifting:

Like you, ronin, I try to keep myself open to most of the genres, but I definitely have my favorites among them.
