Liverpool is alone at the top of the premier league, and at the top of the champions league at the moment. It’s almost impossible to justify any other club being above them. Barcelona is definitely second, as well.

They’re not just on top of the premier league. They are 8 points clear of the top, ahead of Manchester City. They are unbeaten in the champions league, beating former bundesliga champions Bayern leverkausen 4-0. They also beat Milan 3-1. The only real argument that may be close to valid is Barcelona.
