Well, all the Bible implies there (of my knowledge) is that they were (duh) created, and of course, able to reproduce; maybe they weren't created mature (as adults), but instead, as eggs..? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If you believe in evolution, of course, then the obvious course is that something very similar in species to the modern chicken that laid eggs birthed an egg w/ a genetic mutation, creating a chicken egg; then, the egg came first, before the chick hatched and matured into the chicken.
I'm a firm egg believer, in my honest opinion... (🥚🏳⚧?)

Because evolution is slow and a dinosaur cannot change to a chicken in a lifetime, but eggs can mutate and evolve over time and hatch out a chicken
