HMS VIctory had +100 guns to USS Constitution's 44. Do the math.
Frigates were built to fight other frigates and smaller warships, not first-rate ships-of-the-line with over twice as many guns.

Thats a very good point! I do not think many ships ever engaged the Victory in battle, sounds like you know something about ships and history!!
For a fun way to learn some history about this subject start reading Capt Horatio Hornblower novels by C.S. Forester and/or Jack Aubrey novels by Patrick O'Brian. They're both British naval captains in the Napoleonic Era. I read all of the Hornblower novels back in HS and seem to recall liking them, I've read a few Jack Aubrey novels and they're OK so far. They're both blown away by the infamous landlubber Flashman however!

Thanks very much for the info., will look them up and read. I love to build model ships as a hobby, have built the Constitution three times, but when it came time to think about building the HMS Victory, well it takes me two years for the Constitution to complete, not sure if I have enough time left for that ship? But it is most impressive, wish I could see it in person!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe I will build the Bluenose Schooner......
A battle between the H.M.S. Victory, and the U.S.S. Constitution, "Old Ironsides"? Cannonballs would bounce off her sides, She was probably faster and more maneuverable then Victory, but the fire power of Victory is incredible!!
