Why is it this way?

I've become curious as to why it is that whenever a chess.com forum is posted about furries, it immediately gets insane amounts of hate. Why is this? (ACTUAL ANSWERS ONLY, NO "They're weird", etc.)

Does it? I haven't seen that. Maybe a few people don't like it, but I think most people don't care.

mantine73

Well the people that don't care never comment

llama51

Yeah, because they don't care tongue.png

mantine73

Only 90% haters and 5% furries and 5% spectators watching the carnage

llama51

I don't know... I might be wrong, but from memory it's more like 1 or 2 people defending stuff, and 1 or 2 people being mad about stuff, and 99% of people not caring.

mantine73

Well the haters usually flock to a single thread and make insanely insulting comments

llama51

Meh, kids don't even believe half of what they say. They're just saying it to test it out... they try on opinions like trying on clothes 🤷

mantine73

How long will it take before they are here

mantine73

It may be a while because "furry" isn't in the title

llama51

You didn't put "furry" in the title, so they might never show up.

They're weird.

Hate is therapeutic. Makes otherwise sad people feel better about themselves. It creates communities. It unifies. Provides a common goal.

Also They're weird

miskit_mistake

More curious is why people like Ferrero Rocher. Cheap tasting chocolate. Sounds furry though.

mantine73

What?

mantine73

#16 what does any of that mean

That's the best I can do in English

@miskit is saying that people will tear others down to make themselves feel better. What’s funny is I get a much better feeling when I build people up. What you put out in the world is what you get back.
