The particles in the air mess with light in a way that makes the blue light visible.

Because the sun’s rays are white light which is made of the rainbow colors and when that white light enters the atmosphere it separates and only the blue is visible

the sun project the light spectrum, the light bounces off of air particles and other particles until it reaches the blue colour of the spectrum
