Yet another mod AMAA
All openings named after animals are nonsense.

no, not the orangutan opening!!
How do you become a moderator
It can sometimes take a bit for potential moderators to be contacted.
Feel free to re-apply within reasonable timeframes, say yearly.
Who we're looking for as moderators:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- A long history on chesscom, ideally spanning many years.
- Active forum member.
- No cheating, spamming, registration abuse, etc., at least not within the last years.
- Constantly being friendly and helpful, not overreacting when somebody makes a joke like Yo Mama's so fat she plays on 65mm square size chess boards!
If you ask me, this is something everyone should aspire to anyway, even if they're not applying to become a moderator!
My momma was so disappointed in me becoming a moderator she said “I didn’t raise a pawn - I raised a king! Now stop sacrificing yourself in 3 moves!”
that’s my momma… and she still loves me.
What is your opinion on OTF as a whole?
Such formalities… someone must want something. Hmmm… you aren’t muted.
That’s like asking me what my opinion is about The Internet as a whole. Really… OTF is just a reflection of the Internet as a whole. Tell me if you’ve heard this one before “Chess.com has users of all ages, nationalities, races…”. It’s true! That’s what makes the Internet and OTF great.
OTF may be just a bit smaller and easier to make friendships with others. It still experiences issues that are faced elsewhere on The Internet and irl… and that is dealing with people that have differing opinions and values.
i also think OTF might be many people’s first introduction to The Internet and being able to communicate with others anonymously and more openly.
there will always be people that take OTF seriously as a way to connect with and make new friends… and others that just want to ruin the fun for others.
I think people generally need to learn how to treat others better (this even applies to some GMs)
