In the analysis, when it rates moves an inaccuracies or blunders, how are each of those defined?
Computer Analysis

From my understanding:
Innacuraccies are workable, though usually another move results in a very slightly (>.5 usually) better position.
Mistakes are bad moves, usually that lose a pawn for no compensation, significantly hinder your position, or allow a tactical maneuver by your opponent to make a decent gain.
Blunders drop pieces, lose games, or the opposite side of those (not grabbing a free piece or not playing a winning move).

i like the computer analysis, that's one of the reason's i upgraded. At first i thought they had live staff doing them!!! LOL but then i found out the truth...that would be a good "job stimulus" for chess players however...lol

For MAC, I have sigma chess with the limited hiarcs engine which I use for full game analysis, and Glaurung 2.1 for specific position analysis. Glaurung is much stronger but I can't figure how to put the engine into the sigma chess GUI to analyze full games...so I just use the hiarcs limited for game analysis.
To use Glaurung in the Sigma interface you need to download the engine-only file. I think the latest version is 2.2. Download that, put it somewhere sensible, fire up Sigma and use the Engine Manager to get Glaurung working with Sigma.
Thank you very much. I had downloaded the source code before and when I went to engine manager I had only singled clicked instead of double clicking on the executable (doh!), so wasn't able to load it into SIGMA and thought it was incompatible or something.
Now this time I did it right. Thank you very much!

Hi: I was wondering if there is a way to print out the computer analysis.
What I do is to copy the PGN available in the computer analysis and then paste it into CB. I then save the game and analysis to a folder where I keep all of my analyzed games. From there I can print out any games that I so desire. You could also just copy the PGN into notepad and print it out from there.

I had one of my games analized and have no idea what the results mean? Anywhere I can go for a tutorial?

The reason for limiting computer analysis is the amount of computer resources it uses.
Let's suppose that it requires 1MB for each game analysis. And let's further suppose that there are 300,000 free users analyzing one game a week, 20,000 gold members analyzing two games a week, 5,000 platinum analyzing 25 games, and say 1,000 diamond members analyzing, who knows, 40 games. That's about 506GB of computer memory used a week for game analysis, 300 of which would be used by free members.
I know these numbers are just hypothetical and not in any way connected with the reality of the situation, and that RAM is cheap, but the scenario does scale and I didn't even attempt to figure out the costs of electricity, storage, rent, bandwidth, etc that is factored into the cost of computer analysis at chess.com.

I love the computer analysis feature on Chess.com. I really like the plain language comments. It is super easy to run the analysis and then open the PGN results in Deep Shredder which displays all the written comments. Shredder can give me analysis, but it doesn't put comments in plain language.
I enourage you to keep improving this feature (enhance comments, improve turn around times for obtaining the analysis etc. . . . ).
It seems there are still a few glitches. In my theme the notation display is nearly invisible for some reason (ie. the font colors don't match my theme). Also, the scrolling is strange and I get a strange blink / scrolling behavior when I navigate in the analysis results window. I am using Firefox 3.0 on a Mac (OS X 10.5.6).

hey guys i have two computer analsis cames not particulary long but four days latter it still hasn't finished is it working

I don' t understand the sense of the Computer Analyse at chess.com.
Everybody can analyse free and in a better way own games. With Arena or Scid and many free engines its no problem..
Regards
I record the games i play in my club, is their any way to get the computer to analyse them for me, i have already got them as a PNG

I had my game analaised the critical point i had 8 to 10 points advantage the computer started saying rubbish mutch better was when i ran both lines it said i had a dessisive advantage to me the game was dead won why can it not adjust for the obvious game situation
