Actually, it should be the other way round, bonuses for not taking vacation.
Feature Request: Vacation time to extend subscription end date
Well, when you put yourself on vacation you still have access to all of Chess.com's other features. So you could put yourself on vacation for a week watch their premium Chess videos, and use Chess Mentor which are only things you can do with a diamond membership. All vacation does is pause your games. So if your idea was implemented, you might not but others would do as I stated above and then be able to take themselves off vacation have their end subscription date pushed forward or back (however you like it) the amount of days that they were on vacation.
I think I am answering your question, if not sorry. The staff will probably be able to give you a much more scientific answer.
Well, my idea of vacation break on subcription, is that you stop access to everything on chess.com, i.e. the features of chess.com diamond membership chess mentor/chess videos etc. This is line with the expectations magazine / newspaper subscriptions.
Unlike taking vacation time off that some esteemed members use to frustate other members hoping that they resign.
I was hoping to atleast pause you membership for a while, and its not that you can do it infintely anyways....
and not to start a flame war,....when i am on vacation from home, i am still using my home to store my valuables/possessions....not that i can take my home theater system while i am away on vacation.....
First of all let me start by saying that I like chess.com. I love the feature sets offered by the premium membership. There are a few shortcomings but I can live with it, but I am put off by one major feature gap.
Recently I had to take time out from playing chess. I put on the vacation notice while I was away. When I returned back, the subscription still ends on the same day. Despite the fact that I did not log on to the system at all. I fail to understand why would not my subscription be extended to the time that was away. The vacation time has to be earned the hard way...but subscription date never changes.
I get that the team has to run a site and how these features can be misused, but why penalize the folks who are passionate about chess.com.
