Hi all chess fanatics over here,

I am quite interested in starting to play chess, I am deffinitly a "rooky" as I never played the game before. I have seen some videos online and I am getting the hang of the game a bit. Yet It seems that I blunder atleast 2/3 a game.

I was wondering if there are any tips how to improve my game, I always see a tactic, yet I get counter played alot.

Is there a way to improve my tactics by studying specific moves, watching others play, play alot myself?

I would love to receive some tips&trics, and if you are interested please challange me to a game, no mather what skill rating.

I would see this a way to improve my skills.

Thanks!

Everyone you ask will give you slightly diffferent advice but most agree that getting better at tactics will provide a lot of bang for the buck.  Since you're a Diamond, I'd advise going over those beginning tactics courses on the ChessMentor.  Of course you want to test yourself on the Tactics Trainer as well, but it's hard to get tested on something that you don't know very well.

After you get the beginning courses down, and that may mean doing the courses over and over again, until you can 100% most of the lessons, move on to GM Patrick Wolff's intermediate courses on all the tactical motifs.  Sure you know what a fork is, but can you recognize an opportunity to create one?  Some of these courses will be way difficult so take your time and make sure it remains fun for you.  Good luck!

First of all I would like to thank you for all hints, rating in long chess games increased to 1050 from 800 which is nice for me, blitz is quite off though, yet I am learning thanks

I suggest putting off playing blitz for just a bit. Give yourself time to get a feel for what's going on in a position instead. I think it will mean quicker improvement.

Add blitz back in after you start weeding out the obvious blunders.
