Another QA screw up

And a bunch of other menu items are not responsive. I can't even log out, for goodness' sake.

And don't even dare ask me to clear my browser's cache!

It is unacceptable for a company like this. Seriously.

I'm having the same problem. I have a notification, but when I click the bell icon nothing happens. I also can't open my messages. My dad is also having the same issue. So it's definitely not just your computer/browser.

I know it is not my computer. This company has a track record of cutting corners, left and right, when it comes to making their software releases acceptable quality-wise.

The focus is on ads and increasing monthly paid subscriptions. Everything else takes a back seat to that

It's been half a day and the issue persists. Can a chess.com admin or spokesperson comment on the problem? I still can't open my notifications or messages.

Play button does not work either (previously a pop-up menu)

Game analysis tries to open the pop-up and a new tab
@AgileElephants - this is a dev screw-up, just to put things right. But this app has always been trashy for me in so many ways so it's not like it's something new.

These buttons do not work for me too (nothing happens when I click on them) since yesterday. Other buttons like Puzzles, Community etc do not show sub-menus when I move the cursor over them. Tested on Firefox. However everything works fine in Chrome so at least I could open the superb support bot and send the bug report (it was the first time I used the tool for bug reports here and this tool made me feel sad)

I have the same issue on Firefox but not on Google Chrome.

Developers screw up all the time. That's why any software shop has testers to make sure developers' screw-ups don't end up in production.

Yes, subtle bugs do get released even by decent teams. But this... This shouldn't even pass elementary sanity checks.

Avatar of maxdule

@AgileElephants Not right. Just as the 99% of the developers, you completely misunderstand the process. Any feature that cannot pass the "elementary sanity check" should end up anywhere, let alone the production. In this particular case, that "tester" (if there is one at all) is just the tip of the iceberg - obviously a broken iceberg.
@Geelse_zot Same for me. Google Chrome seems to be working correctly.

Same problem for me. Please @admin help us!

Everything is working again for me now.

I hope it is for everyone else affected, too.

There was a bug that only impacted Firefox. Staff resolved the issue
