The site closed almost 60,000 accounts last month for fair play violations and has a full team of staff working on reports along with some automated systems for detection.

That said, discussions of cheating, potential cheating, or cheat detection are not allowed in the general forums. If you want to discuss join the following club

In the past few days I've been wiped off the board a few times by people rated 800, my OTB rating is 1800. Every single time when it's perfectly clear they're cheating their defense is to claim it's their "second account" and they're smurfing. "My real rating is 2000 bro". No less than 4 times in 2 days I've had that. This doesn't make any sense to me as I play unrated on my single account, the only reason I can see to make a second one to play unrated is to cheat and not have it affect a main account. Also when you go and look at their rated games, they're losing to 600s. I generally get a load of abuse in the chat from these people playing 20 moves at 90% accuracy in under a minute at 800 rating - report them only for nothing to happen. Not sure if chess.com just doesn't care about unrated games or simply doesn't have the means to detect an 800 playing a 2000 strength game at bullet speeds. Either way, it wastes my time and makes me angry, so absolutely no point anymore. Cheating may be limited at the top levels of chess but it's utterly rife throughout the site at the lower levels. Had enough and cancelled my membership.
