Chessbomb seems gone

As of today Chessbomb.com seems to be gone - the address redirects to chess.com itself.

I feel that is a real shame.

While not perfect, ChessBomb was a simple way to follow games. After a busy day a quick glance at some games. Sixty blue moves, draw  - never mind. Red move on move 39 - what happened there? Also the possibility to open 10 live games or more in different tabs appealed to me.

Chess, com (who used to have the same interface) lacks most of that. It's hard to find the decisive moments in games. The result part on the right is way too busy. All these extra icons (titles, flags, whatever) and pictures make for a cluttered page, Showing the pieces captured next to the board doesn't help either. And if there is an easy way to follow a few games simultaneously (other than simply opening a lot browser tabs) I have yet to find it. I find this part of chess.com mostly unusable.

Sorry, chess.com - not happy here.

Here's  a message from staff:

The Chessbomb team has joined Chess.com and is working to power events on www.chess.com/events . The Chessbomb and Chess.com team has combined to focus on the best possible chess-viewing experience. If there are features from Chessbomb that you miss, please let us know so we can prioritize those.

While this topic is an acceptable form of feedback, you might also use Help > Make a Suggestion to get that directly in front of staff.

Hi!

Live coverage of games is complicated to handle and with poor overview. Evaluation of moves with colors is missing. I do not like this page at all. There should be a live tournaments page, where it is possible to follow the games exactly with the same design and functionality like it was possible on chessbomb.

Thanks

chess.com is missing the color in the moves. I also like to see 3-4 possible lines (I am only seeing one line now). I also liked the idea of one chat per game. I can see that now you have one chat for the entire room or even tournament.

I do have good feedback. The size feature is pretty good. The accuracy in the analysis is great. Also the openings tab with previous games is a nice idea. I used to check that on the explorer of chess.com even when I was watching chessbomb.

Not just people, but chess sites also come and go...

My understanding is move colors are coming back soon

Totally agree - having colour coding on move list so that you can see where key moments are and being able to EASILY play through 3 or 4 computer lines from any position is HUGE.

Chessbomb had it just about perfect. Also - the ability to order or hide games to follow games of interest.

Have a pic in my mind with chess.com doing a Tom Jones. Felt a need to share

Chess bomb, chess bomb, you're my chess bomb ...

Tell me when will you be mine, cuando...

Now.

Agree with OP.

Please, please, please bring back something similar to that fantastic Chessbomb interface. We all know what that means, so I will not go on. Thank you.

That's still being ran by chess.com but don't believe it's actually production and is likely to have bugs

Santoy

Oh wow. That is fantastic if it survives... Chess.com is absolute pants by comparison.

Chessbomb disappearing has left nowhere good to follow live events.

Few bugs at the moment though (eg. Closing an engine variation within the move list sometimes raises an error)
