wth! when did those tournaments stopped?
Concern Regarding Removal of Variant Tournaments
Big thanks to Spartacus-60 for raising this issue. Full support. I was really surprised not to find crazyhouse tournaments, without any notice.

🎯 Gambit for the VariantsA tournament with a mission: bring back variant tournaments to Chess.com!
Are you a fan of Crazyhouse, King of the Hill, or Three-Check? Then you know how thrilling it is when creativity meets the board.
But lately, variants have been sidelined… and we’re here to change that.
This tournament isn’t just about winning—it's about sending a message: the community wants variants alive, active, and competitive.Join us, play, share, and make some noise. The more players we gather, the louder our voice becomes.
📢 Play for fun. Play for variants. Play for change.

Did chesscom announce that the Crazyhouse tourneys were going to be discontinued? Or did it just…happen?

I don’t think there was any official announcement. The Crazyhouse, Three-Check, and King of the Hill tournaments just stopped showing up. A lot of us are equally surprised. Hopefully will give us some explanation soon.

A heap of peolpe are hacking in crazyhouse though and we've got to speak about it.
Chess.com are patching crazyhouse and getting up an engine to bust actual hackers cuz a heap of reports about hacking are in the system
I don't know what this hacking nonsense means, but it's quite dissappointing how few reactions to the dissappearence of crazyhouse tournaments there are. Only a handful of pepole seem to be concerned and want the situation to revert back to normal. CHess.com is not even reacting. I think this is litterrally game over. Lichess.org offers an alternative, with regular crazyhouse tournaments spread throughout the day, all arena type, 1min, 2 min, 3 min and 5 min. I am moving there.
... shame cause Crazyhouse tournaments were a lot of fun, and most of the time there were more than enough participants (50-80).

Okay, so that's an explanation—to some degree. But would it have killed chesscom to issue a clear heads-up, such as "On August 29, we'll be removing Crazyhouse tournaments from the calendar"?
And as I look at the Variants, I don't see any tourneys. Why remove a popular functionality, with no replacement—and no apparent plan for a replacement? (Who do they think they are…Microsoft?)
Dear Team,
As a passionate member of your platform and an avid player of chess variants such as Crazyhouse, I was deeply disappointed to learn that official tournaments for these formats have been discontinued.
These variants are not just casual diversions—they represent vibrant subcultures within the chess community. They challenge creativity, tactical flexibility, and attract players who seek fresh and dynamic experiences beyond classical formats. Removing tournaments for these variants feels like a step backward in promoting diversity and innovation in the game we all love.
I urge you to reconsider this decision and explore ways to support variant communities, whether through reinstated tournaments, club-sponsored events, or even seasonal competitions. has always been a leader in online chess—please continue to lead by embracing all forms of the game.
Sincerely,
