It's hard to believe that there aren't better tournament filters. With so many millions on chess.com, there are many many tournaments. I should be able to filter on any of the attributes (time control, vacation, rating, etc.). Can't believe that'd be difficult to code.
Daily Tournament Search Options in Need of Improvement

Please take the suggestions to improve the ability to find desirable tournaments quickly and more easily.
There are 3 filterable options, but while searching for tournaments to join, one must be set to 'Upcoming' so in actuality there are only 2 drop down filters.
Of these 2, both can have more than one option, making a drop down the wrong selection type for these. A checkbox on applicable game modes makes much more sense. For example, one drop down has "No Vacation" and "Chess 960". However it is possible for a tournament to be one, both, or neither.
The 3rd drop down has many selection options that will sort, however we cannot do any meaningful interactions with these sorts. For example, "Alphabetical" does exactly what it means, however is locked to A-Z, I cannot flip to Z-A. (Since there is also no "Last" button on the paging, to get to a tournament at the end of the list in this fashion means going three pages at a time, for an extremely long time as there are many tournaments.) It would make far more sense to have the table have sorting options, where applicable, to the individual columns.
Some of these options don't offer much value anyway, as for example with "Registered Players", it does not differentiate between a tournament that is 7/8 full, vs 7/250. So the suggestion is turn most of these into fields that can be set with limits. For example, setting an upper rating limit of 1800 would remove any tournaments that allow for players above 1800 to register. (Regardless of where the lower boundary is set. Which would be a similar but separate field.)
There are so many factors that make a tournament an enjoyable or dreadful experience for many players, and they are all different for each player. I believe adding this functionality would entice more players to use the feature and increase tournament usage if it were easier and quicker to find the ones that best suit our needs. Thanks.
