The disconnect timer for game abandonment is currently set at 10% of the base time + increments. It means that if you're playing a 10 minute rapid game, you can only be gone for 60 seconds. Seems like quite a short amount of time, given that it's not unusual to see a player spend a couple of minutes considering a move in a rapid game, and a 60 second disconnection wouldn't really disrupt the game. I really wouldn't mind waiting at least 20% of the base time for someone to reconnect. Their time disadvantage for the rest of the game would be enough of a punishment.
